Lecture Series:
Peace - International & Interdisciplinary Perspectives
Given the wars, conflicts and crises worldwide, isn’t it naïve and outdated to talk about peace? On the contrary! Especially in times when daily reporting about atrocities has become normal and there seems to be no alternative to armament, it is timely and necessary to reflect on peace. In this lecture series, we will look at peace from the perspectives of different academic disciplines and geographical contexts. We will discuss questions, such as: What does peace actually mean? How can research and teaching at universities contribute to making, building and keeping peace? How can interdisciplinary and international perspectives on peace help to “think out of the box” and develop creative approaches towards a culture of peace?
